RFID tags

Termont recently completed the installation of the infrastructure necessary to support the use of RFID tags, a key element of this technology. The use of these labels will be mandatory for all trucks circulating in our terminals from September 3, 2024. Truckers who do not comply with this requirement after this date may be refused access. The rating of the trucking company may also be affected.

The technology deployed guarantees that the location of trucks will only be possible within the Termont terminals. Changes to service procedures will be announced later, no changes before September 3, 2024.

The use of these tags will be mandatory for all trucks operating in our terminals as of May 27, 2024. Truckers who do not comply failure to comply with this requirement after this date may be denied access. A process has been put in place by our operations team to manage exceptions. RFID tags will not have any impact on your current applications

You and your partner decide how you want to manage tags. The tags are not linked to a driver or a company, all options work. The name of the company is required only for the purchase of tags

Tags are not linked to a driver or company. As long as the driver has a tag, he can enter our terminals, regardless of the company he works for.

The tags are portable but it is not recommended to move them from one truck to another because this practice increases the risk of damage to the device or of not having the device on the right truck at the time of the visit to the terminal. Each company decides how it wants to manage its fleet. A possible option is to equip a number of trucks that regularly use the port with tags.

Each carrier will have to evaluate according to their criteria and their needs. If you have a large fleet, you can equip a number of trucks that regularly visit the port with tags.

eModal is the tag provider. Emodal provides various support services for the management of certain processes or services for maritime carriers and terminals as well as for the trucking community (gate fees, detention fees, empty returns, Tags, etc.). There are no links with the VBS / RDV Termont system

There is no tag recycling program at this time

The supplier estimates an average delivery time of between 2 to 3 weeks. We recommend adding 1 or 2 additional weeks to avoid unforeseen events.
