Innovation at the Port of Montreal: Pilot Phase for a New Appointment System

The Port of Montreal is entering a new era in logistics with the start of an ambitious pilot project at the Termont terminal. Initiated in partnership with trucking companies, this project aims to implement an appointment making system, called “RDV”, to improve the efficiency of operations. This first phase, the result of several months of preparation, includes surveys and meetings with logistics stakeholders, aimed at adapting the tool to the specific needs of users.

As part of this project, Termont plans to launch new phases, integrating crucial aspects such as customs transactions and the management of hazardous materials. The objective is to offer a user-friendly and effective tool to carriers, with an emphasis on decision support modules and transparency of average truck processing time. This pilot project, which is constantly evolving, plans its official integration before the end of the year, with ongoing training to facilitate its adoption among carriers.
